Everton team management was in raptures about the venue and quality
of the playing surface following their "friendly" against the Brisbane
Roar at Suncorp Stadium on the weekend.
Here is what team captain, Phil Neville and manager, David Moyes had to say after the game.
"Great way to round of the tour, I just said in there that if
Everton were ever to move to a new ground to be based on this one, it's a
proper football stadium, probably the best stadium we've played in and
the best pitch we've played on and probably the toughest game"
Phil Neville, Everton captain 17/710
"...Suncorp Stadium surface was far superior to Sydney's ANZ Stadium and Melbourne's Etihad Stadium which were disappointments"
David Moyes, Everton manager 17/7/10
"I think our quality showed in the end but it was played in a
real football stadium, on a nice football pitch and I think out of the
three games, this has probably been the best spectacle for the
supporters to watch"
