Patrons attending this week's Andre Rieu concerts at Suncorp Stadium have been encouraged to arrive early.
Stadium General Manager, Paul Sergeant said a large number of patrons attending the concerts are elderly and many of them have not attended an event at the Stadium before.
"For that reason, we would recommend strongly they arrive with plenty of time to become familiar with the venue and its facilities.
"Gates open at 5pm with the concerts commencing at 7pm. Each concert is expected to attract 25,000 patrons."
Mr Sergeant said plenty of event day staff will be employed on both nights to assist patrons find their way around the Stadium, show them to their seats and explain where the many food and beverage units, toilets and cloaking facilities are located. Refreshments and some seating will also be available outside the venue for patrons arriving before the gates open at 5pm.
He reminded patrons that Suncorp Stadium is predominately a public transport venue exceptionally well serviced by QR Citytrain and Brisbane Transport buses. Patrons can travel free on public transport to the concerts by simply showing their event ticket.
"While general parking is not permitted in the area around the Stadium on event days, a number of patrons have requested PWD (People with Disabilities) spaces. These spaces are limited and only available upon application to blue permit holders.
"For everyone else, they should plan their trip, ie what time they leave home and arrive home, and factor in the time it will take to locate their seats at the Stadium.
"We don't want people taking the risk of arriving at the last minute and possibly missing the start of the concert," Mr Sergeant said.
