Patrons purchasing tickets to the Andre Rieu concerts in Brisbane next week have been warned to avoid doing so from unscrupulous operators.
Suncorp Stadium General Manager, Paul Sergeant said today that he had been made aware of people paying excessively inflated prices for tickets to the concerts through unauthorized outlets.
"Unfortunately, in many of these instances, these people will never see any tickets or their money again.
"I am aware of two operators selling tickets at excessively inflated prices Red Circle and another through a website called www.worldticketshop.com. People should avoid dealing with both.
"While the Queensland Government has some of the toughest anti-scalping ticket laws in the world, these operators are invisible, often being based overseas. They keep moving, and therefore are hard for authorities to track down and prosecute."
Tickets purchased through these outlets may be cancelled by the venue.
Mr Sergeant said the only way people can be assured of paying the correct prices and actually receiving their tickets was through the venue's official ticketing agent, Ticketek.
"Ticketek is the authorized ticketing agent for these concerts at Suncorp Stadium," he said.
Tickets can be purchased via telephone (13 28 49), online (www.ticketek.com.au) or through the 24 Ticketek agencies spread throughout south-east Queensland.
There are still good seats available in most categories for both Brisbane concerts on 3 and 4 December.
