Spence: Leave early, plan travel and pre-purchase tickets as Brisbane hosts double-header

Sport Minister Judy Spence, as Minister responsible for Stadiums Queensland, is urging Broncos and Lions fans to plan their travel and pre-purchase tickets to their event of choice, to avoid double trouble when both codes host major games in Brisbane on Friday night (March 28th).

Ms Spence said: "On the north side of the river, Suncorp Stadium will host an all Queensland derby between the Broncos and the Cowboys, while south of the river the Lions will take on the Magpies at The Gabba.

"With both matches kicking off at 7.30pm it is going to be an exciting, yet busy night for Brisbane.

"I encourage fans to plan ahead and buy their tickets online, to ensure quick entry into the venues and guarantee a seat for these big matches.

"Translink will be putting on extra bus and train services to accommodate fans, as well as commuters. Patrons with pre-purchased tickets will ride for free.

"With more than 80,000 spectators expected at the venues, patrons can help to make the night run smoothly, by following The Fan Plan:

Pre-Purchase Your Tickets: Avoid having to queue to purchase your tickets at the Box Office on arrival. Purchase online and print your ticket at home or at work (visit www.ticketek.com.aufor more information). Alternatively, support your club and pre-purchase a season long Membership.

Public Transport Services: Use your pre-purchased tickets to take full advantage of the 'travel free' public transport on offer to and from all major events at Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba. Plan your journey using event shuttles and existing scheduled bus and train services;

Extend Your Journey Time: Leave for your destination at least 45 minutes earlier than you might have in the past. Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba will be ready to welcome you well before the start time of your main event.

Be Informed: Visit www.translink.com.au or call 13 12 30 to get all of the latest transport information.

"By following these simple steps, we can all help to make getting to and from the games as hassle-free as possible, and everyone can go home with good memories of the night," Ms Spence said.

Tickets for both events can be purchased online at www.ticketek.com.au or by calling Ticketek Phonecharge on 13 28 49.
