Stadium Golf Day raises $7,100 for Hear and Say Centre
General Manager, Alan Graham, hailed Suncorp Stadium’s inaugural Corporate Golf Day a success having raised more than $7,000 for charity.
A total of 100 Stadium sponsors and their clients participated in the event held at The Glades Gold Club on the Gold Coast last week.
Former Queensland State of Origin legends Wally Lewis, Gene Miles, Gary Belcher and Wally Fullerton-Smith along with representatives from the Stadium’s three anchor tenants, the Brisbane Broncos, the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar were on hand assist with fundraising efforts on the day.
The Hear and Say Centre, which is close to Wally Lewis’ heart, was the nominated recipient for fund raised.
Mr Graham said 10 year old Jesicca Holland, a graduate of the Hear and Say Centre, impressed all with her speech at the dinner afterwards. Jessica is living proof of the outstanding job the Centre is performing in the community,” he said.
Mr Graham said not only did the event offer Stadium sponsors and clients the chance to network and play at one of the best courses in south-east Queensland, it provided an opportunity to support an important charity.
It is certainly our intention to play a part in supporting important community projects like Hear and Say through future Golf Days,” he said.
Mr Graham acknowledged the event sponsors - Spotless Catering and Out and About Marketing and Media (both major sponsors), Suncorp Metway, Austereo, Nova 106.9, BDO Kendalls, Sebel Furniture, Coca Cola Amatil, Lincom, Lion Nathan, Best Signs QLD, Clayton Utz, Strahayr Turf Systems, Quest Community Newspapers and Wormald.
Saunders Havill was the major winner on the day, while Chad Best won the Nearest the Pin and Peter Stark the winner of the Longest Drive on the day.
