Suncorp Stadium is undertaking some routine turf replacement this week ahead of Saturday's Brisbane Roar v Newcastle Jets Hyundai "A" League game.
A small section of turf in the north-west corner of the field - the area that receives the least amount of sunlight annually - is being replaced.
Stadium General Manager, Alan Graham said the grounds-staff carried out a turf maintenance programme over the summer break, but it was decided to replace a section to ensure the best possible standard of playing field for A League games.
"Turf replacement is part and parcel of sporting fields worldwide. Wear and tear happens because we are dealing with a natural grass product.
"We are confident that the new turf will be bedded in and ready for Saturday's game," he said.
Mr Graham said the turf replacement costs were included in the Stadium operational budget.
