A bumper crowd is expected for tonight’s NRL Doubleheader at Suncorp Stadium with confirmation that a number of players from Queensland’s winning State of Origin team will back up for their clubs.
Ben Hannant, Corey Parker and Jharal Yow Yeh are confirmed starters for the Brisbane Broncos when they take on the Manly Sea Eagles in the first game kicking off at 7pm. And Ashley Harrison will be backing up for the Gold Coast Titans in the second game against the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs which kicks off at 8.45pm. To add a little more spice to that game, Queensland’s public enemy number one, Michael Ennis will be lining up for the Bulldogs in game two.
Good seats are still available for tonight’s Doubleheader. These can be purchased either online through Ticketek www.ticketek.com.au or by calling 13 2849. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased at the box offices at the Stadium upon arrival.
Suncorp Stadium General Manager, Alan Graham said Rugby League fans had embraced the Doubleheader concept with more than 92,000 fans attending since they began in 2009.
“Little wonder, given that fans get two quality NRL games for the price one,” he said.
“What started as a novel idea has now become a regular fixture on the Stadium event schedule, and it’s great that all key stakeholders have seen the positives of such a move.
“And it's no surprise that the NRL wants to hold matches like this at Suncorp Stadium. It’s an ideal venue with the infrastructure in place to support major sporting events,” Mr Graham said.
