Congratulations to the Brisbane Roar

Suncorp Stadium management and staff congratulated the Brisbane Roar on its outstanding 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season culminating in yesterday’s epic Grand Final win.

Stadium General Manager, Alan Graham praised the captain Matt McKay and players and Ange Postecoglou and coaching staff for the way they conducted themselves on and off the field during the season.

“The attractive, attacking brand of football the Roar plays is well documented. But to remain unbeaten after 28 games, and then to win both the Premier’s Plate and Grand Final in the same season is an outstanding achievement.

"The club has also played an active role in community work with the players being outstanding ambassadors for their sport.

"They can be very proud of what they have achieved and deserve all the plaudits that come their way”.

Mr Graham also praised the 50, 168 strong crowd, the majority of which were clad in orange, for their behaviour and contributing to a wonderful atmosphere on the day.

“Everyone played their part in ensuring the A-League Grand Final will go down as one of the most memorable events staged since the venue was redeveloped in 2003” Mr Graham said.
