Suncorps One Millionth Patron Set To Go Ballistic

The ultimate prize awaits the one millionth patron to Suncorp Stadium who buys a ticket to the Qantas Socceroos vs Thailand match before kick off on Friday, 2 September.

Sport Minister Phil Reeves joined Qantas Socceroos player Mark Schwarzer today to unveil the prize pack.

"There'll be no need for a play-off with the one millionth patron set to bag two Qantas airfares and two tickets to the next Socceroos match in Sydney in October," Mr Reeves said.

"The icing on the cake will be two Suncorp Stadium memberships for 2012. It means seats at Queensland State of Origin home games, the Broncos, Rugby League Tests, the Reds, and the Roar.

"But you've got to be in it to win it, and we haven't hit the million yet, so I encourage all football fans to purchase a ticket for Friday's match which kicks off what we're calling Brisbane's super September weekend."

Qantas' Queensland region general manager, Andrew Hogg said: "As sponsors of the Socceroos we're proud to offer two return flights to the winning fan to be at the next game in Sydney."

"It's a big weekend for Brisbane and appropriate that Suncorp hosts its one millionth patron at Friday's Qantas Socceroos game," Mr Hogg said.

Mr Reeves said Queensland's major sports stadia pump more than $308 million into the Queensland economy each year, reinforcing the state's reputation as not only the Champions State, but the Events State as well.

"The super September weekend begins with Friday's game, followed by the Riverfire fireworks spectacular on Saturday night, and Darren Lockyer's farewell match on Father's Day when the Broncos take on the Manly Sea Eagles," he said.

"You couldn't ask for a better time to be in Queensland, there's literally something for everyone on that super September weekend."
