Pre-purchase tickets to go to the head of the queue says stadium GM

As Suncorp Stadium prepares for another big crowd at the QR Reds v Stormers Super 14 Rugby game tomorrow night, General Manager Alan Graham has urged patrons to pre-purchase their tickets.

Mr Graham said some patrons assumed that with a 50,000 seat plus venue that they can simply turn up, purchase their ticket and head straight into the venue.

"The problem is if everyone adopts that approach, it can place unnecessary pressure at the box office leading to queues and the possibility of patrons missing kick-off, particularly if they leave their arrival to the last minute.

"By pre-purchasing your ticket, not only do you avoid the queues, you get to travel free on the many Translink bus and QR train services to the Stadium."

Tickets can be purchased either by calling Ticketek on 13 28 49 or online at www.ticketek.com.au

Mr Graham also encouraged patrons to plan their travel to the Stadium, taking into account the added pressures on local roads from normal Friday peak hour traffic.

"In addition to regular scheduled services, there are a number of special bus and rail services to the Stadium on event days in the two hour period before kick-off.

But irrespective of the number of services available, if the majority of patrons leave it to the last minute, they run the risk of missing the kick-off if there are transport delays.

"Our advice is allow plenty of time to get from home to the Stadium and settled in, and enjoy the curtain-raiser game and pre-game entertainment," Mr Graham said.
