Brisbane Broncos Sign Historic New Suncorp Stadium Agreement

10/07/2022

Suncorp Stadium will remain the ”Home of the Broncos” for at least another 12 years, with the Brisbane Broncos signing a landmark extension until the end of the 2034 NRL season.

The Broncos announced on Sunday, that they have extended their current Stadiums Queensland agreement, which will see the club stay the Stadium’s No 1 patronage tenant for the foreseeable future.

It’s the third, and longest Broncos agreement in Suncorp Stadium’s history.

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy said: “Suncorp Stadium is home for us. It has been this way for a very long time and I’m thrilled that will continue during an exciting period for our city.

“Our players love playing here, but most importantly our members and fans, the people of Brisbane, love coming to watch their team at Suncorp Stadium.

“It’s a world-class facility and we always strive to be a world-class sporting organisation.

“We know how much the Broncos mean to Brisbane and can’t wait to deliver more experiences and moments at Suncorp Stadium that people will remember for a lifetime.

“I’d like to thank all parties involved in the long-term partnership including Stadiums Queensland, the State Government and ASM Global.”

Deputy Premier Steven Miles said: “Suncorp is where the Broncos belong and helped Queensland secure the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“Suncorp is the best rectangular stadium in the world. It is the spiritual home of rugby league in Queensland, “ Mr Miles said.

“It’s the rightful home of the Broncos and I look forward to watching them beat St George this afternoon and every one of their opponents over the next 12 years!”

Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham said: “We are thrilled that the Broncos have agreed to extend their stay at Suncorp Stadium.

“When the Stadium was being redeveloped, the Broncos were the first team to put their hand up to become an anchor tenant.

“We’ve enjoyed a wonderful relationship over the past 19 years and are excited about the enormous opportunities that lie ahead for both of us.

“This extension will continue one of the most enduring and successful partnerships between club and stadium and I thank Karl, Dave and Kevvie for their ongoing support.”

Next year will mark 20 years since the Broncos played their first ever game at the redeveloped Suncorp Stadium, formerly known as Lang Park, in 2003.
