Suncorp Stadium Turns Orange for the SES

19/10/2020

Tonight Suncorp Stadium will turn it's lights orange in support of State Emergency Service (SES) Week. Joining other landmarks in lighting up orange, the Stadium welcomes the opportunity to show appreciation of all that our SES volunteers do for us. October 19th is the big day where 30 landmarks/locations across Queensland will all light up together!

This year, SES Week 2020 will run from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 24 October 2020.

Each year, the spotlight shines on the spirit of volunteering during State Emergency Service (SES) Week. Queenslanders are given the opportunity to learn more about the SES and recognise the efforts of SES Members in their local community during this momentous week. It is a week of community education, engagement and celebration. It is an excellent opportunity to raise public awareness of the dedication and commitment of SES members and the invaluable services they perform within their communities.

The celebrations include award ceremonies held state-wide throughout SES Week, culminating in the Queensland State Awards Ceremony in Brisbane on Saturday 23 October 2020. The award ceremonies provide a rare opportunity to say thank you to particular SES members that have clocked up several years of service, or to those that have undertaken their role in an exceptional way.

SES Groups will hold events throughout SES Week to celebrate all that is great about SES volunteers.  For information about SES events that are happening in your corner of Queensland, please phone an Area Office near you.
