Suncorp Stadium teams up with the Braille House

17/09/2021

Suncorp Stadium will team up with the Braille House to integrate QR Code tactile indicators at the venue.

The initiative follows the Braille House launching their QR Code tactile indicators for those who are blind or have low vision to be able to find the QR Code to scan independently.

The new QR Code tactile indicator is a sticker that is placed over the QR Code that reads “Please scan the QR code below” and has a tactile square to indicate where the QR Code is.

The stickers will be in use at Suncorp Stadium beginning with the Rugby Championship Double Header on Saturday Sept 18.

With several large events to finish off 2021, the stickers will be placed over QR Codes on the Northern and Southern Plazas as well as at the Information desks inside the venue.

About Braille House
Braille House began in 1897 as the Queensland Braille Writing Association by the then Governor's wife Lady Lamington (yes - the lady the Lamington is named after - but that's another story). Braille House's mission has not changed in 124 years "To provide Braille tuition and reading material to empower people who are blind or who have low vision to live with dignity and independence"
