BRODIE CROFT

I reckon Brodie Croft has got a lot of the Cooper Cronk about him. Not in the way he plays. He still has a very long way to go to even approach what Cronk achieved in his 375 game career, but in the way he carries himself. Watching Croft facing the media after just his first training run with the Broncos I couldn’t help but be reminded of Cronk. Few players handled themselves in front of a camera and microphone with the assurance of Cronk, but Croft came awfully close on Monday. Everything he said should have been music to the ears of long-suffering Brisbane fans: that he wanted to be an organiser, a communicator; that he wanted to establish a halves partnership that would unlock Anthony Milford and enable him to play his natural game. I know there is a big difference between saying what you are going to do and actually going out and doing it, but the confidence that Croft exuded, and the obvious excitement he showed about starting a fresh chapter in his career was infectious. I reckon the Broncos might just have made their best signing for a long, long time. What do YOU reckon?
